Bristol Bears Women Partner with Envelop Risk for 2025/26 Season

// Press Release

Bristol Bears Women are delighted to announce a new partnership with Bristol-based company Envelop Risk for the 2025/26 season.

Envelop Risk is a cyber reinsurer that specializes in AI-enabled underwriting and proprietary solutions to navigate complex and emerging risks. The combination of AI, data-driven underwriting, and human expertise enables the team at Envelop Risk to tackle uncertainty with confidence. This partnership with Bristol Bears Women is an important milestone in highlighting the Envelop Risk team’s focus on value-driven community involvement and supporting local, up-and-coming talent.

As part of the arrangement, Envelop Risk will sponsor back-row Christiana Balogun, a player who thrives both on and off the pitch, balancing a professional rugby career with her role in recruitment. Balogun’s passion and resilience are qualities that align with Envelop Risk’s broader commitment to backing those pursuing challenges beyond the workplace. Examples of this include John Kelly, EVP of Technology and ultra-marathon runner, who has completed the 120-mile Barkley Marathon three times, and EVP Head of Human Resources Rebecca Charlton’s completion of The World’s Toughest Row, a 56-day, 3000-nautical-mile journey across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua. While the Bristol Bears Women sponsorship reflects the company’s support for remarkable athletic pursuits, it also underscores Envelop Risk’s commitment to increasing engagement in women’s rugby and promoting ongoing recognition of women’s sport.

Jonathan Spry, CEO of Envelop Risk, commented:

“At Envelop Risk, we’ve always believed in staying a step ahead, whether that’s through our technology, our thinking, or how we engage with our community. Partnering with Bristol Bears Women is a natural extension of that ethos. It’s our first community partnership and an important engagement on our journey to support women in sport, invest in the Greater Bristol region, and back a team whose ambition, vision, and resilience mirror our own values.”

Paul Beet, Chairman of Bristol Bears Women, said:

“We’re proud to welcome Envelop Risk as a partner. Their innovative outlook and commitment to progress and community resonate strongly with our mission to build champions on and off the field. Together, we can continue to push boundaries, grow the women’s game, and inspire the next generation.”

Bristol Bears Women General Manager, Daisie Mayes, added:

“In what is such a huge year for women’s rugby, having the backing of a forward-thinking Bristol business is a fantastic boost for our players, staff and supporters as we build towards an exciting season ahead.”
